Tall reading...

Has anyone read "The Tall Book" by Arianne Cohen? I was just checking out her Web site. The book claims to answer the age old questions, "Why do tall people succeed professionally, financially and intellectually? Why are tall men the most successful dating and mating group on earth, while tall women have low birth rates? And who the hell is behind those airplane seats?" I wonder if there's actual research on these things or if she used anecdotal evidence. Either way, I'd like to talk to whoever's responsible for the airplane seats.

I bought a copy and mostly liked it. There is a lot of information packed in and she writes well.

My problem is with some of the studies she quotes. Some of them are weak and it is difficult to make extrapolations.

There is a very strong feel good about being tall mood and a relief to be with similar people. I don't share that myself. I have a couple of tall friends, but height is not that important for me - other than finding things that fit.

She does make some points about supporting firms that cater to tall people to ensure products will exist.

I wrote a review of the book on y blog (http://bigpeoplelittleworld.wordpress.com/2010/02/18/the-tall-book-review-in-its-entirety/) but you should check the book out, good stuff. I enjoy your blog and all other tall related blogs out there, keep it up!

Yeah, I read it, it was pretty good. But I'm not sure if all the information is researched, but I don't think it's purely anecdotal.
